Lolita, by Vladimir Nabokov

The narrative follows a university professor and his obsession with 12-year-old Dolores Haze, whom he nicknames Lolita. Due to fears of censorship, the book was published in France in 1955, although it was written in English.
The work was met with controversy and censorship due to its themes of pedophilia, sexualization of a minor, and explicit language, making it prohibited in various countries, including England, Australia, Belgium, Austria, and even Portugal, where the book was banned for almost 20 years after its first publication.
