Filipe Melo and Juan Cavia at Livraria Lello

The authors of the bestseller Ballad for Sophie, Filipe Melo, and Juan Cávia, will get together on 21st October at 9:30 pm at Livraria Lello for a conversation that cannot be missed.

Filipe Melo is a musician, film director, and comic strip author. Currently, he has several books published, many of them in collaboration with Juan Cavia, Argentinean art director for cinema and advertising.

In 2020, this duo published the graphic novel Ballad for Sophie which, in 2022, was the highlight of the Eisner awards, obtaining four nominations. In Portugal, this work has already been distinguished as Best Comic by a Portuguese Author at the Amadora BD 2021 and also as Bertrand Book of the Year in 2021.
