Livraria Lello hosts Internacional Congress on José Saramago
Between October 11 and 13, Livraria Lello will host the International Congress "What shall we do with José Saramago? In the 25 Years of the Nobel Prize".
The event will take place in the Gemma room of the Most Beautiful Bookshop in the World and will feature national and international speakers, as well as other personalities such as Pilar del Río.
As the title of the event suggests, inspired by José Saramago's play What Will I Do With This Book? the aim is to discuss this writer's place in Portuguese and world literature, today and in the future. In between talks, a wide range of topics will be discussed, related to literary creations, human nature and the meaning of José Saramago's life.
The session is free to attend, subject to prior registration by emailing catedrasaramago@utad.pt, and is limited to the capacity of the Gemma room. It will also be possible to watch some of the event's panels via livestreaming on Livraria Lello's Facebook page.
