Livraria Lello republishes Annona or Misto Curioso, the first culinary magazine in Portuguese

O primeiro folhetim de culinária em língua portuguesa, publicado entre 1836 e 1837 e quase desaparecido, vai ser reeditado pela Livraria Lello em livro numa parceria com Real Gabinete Português de Leitura. A apresentação de Annona ou Misto Curioso está marcada para o dia 8 de novembro, às 21 horas, na Livraria Mais Bonita do Mundo.

O lançamento contará com a participação de destacadas personalidades da gastronomia portuguesa, incluindo o jornalista gastronómico, Rafael Tonon, o renomado Chefe Executivo no Restaurante do The Yeatman Hotel, Ricardo Costa, e a especialista em História da Alimentação, Guida Cândido. A apresentação estará a cargo de Gilda Santos e de Ida Alves do Real Gabinete Português de Leitura.

Annona ou Misto Curioso é uma deliciosa viagem no tempo, reunindo um conjunto de receitas variadas temperadas pela tradição e cultura portuguesas, acompanhadas de jogos de salão, "digestivas" histórias de Portugal, fábulas mitológicas, poesias e pequenas narrativas que animavam os serões festivos oitocentistas e que, divertirão, com certeza, os leitores contemporâneos. Um documento raro e essencial para a investigação da alimentação

Além do lançamento do livro, a Livraria Lello encerrará a exposição "O Triângulo de Camilo", com o regresso do manuscrito de Amor de Perdição, de Camilo Castelo Branco, ao Brasil.

The presentation of Annona or Misto Curioso is scheduled for November 8th, at 9 pm, at Livraria Mais Bonita do Mundo.

The launch will feature the participation of prominent Portuguese gastronomy personalities, including the gastronomic journalist, Rafael Tonon, the renowned Executive Chef at The Yeatman Hotel Restaurant, Ricardo Costa, and the specialist in Food History, Guida Cândido. The presentation will be in charge of Gilda Santos and Ida Alves from the Real Gabinete Português de Leitura.

Annona or Misto Curioso is a delicious journey through time, bringing together a set of varied recipes seasoned by Portuguese tradition and culture, accompanied by parlor games, "digestive" stories from Portugal, mythological fables, poetry and short narratives that livened up the festive evenings of the 19th century and which will certainly amuse contemporary readers. A rare and essential document for food research

In addition to the launch of the book, Livraria Lello will close the exhibition "O Triângulo de Camilo", with the return of the manuscript of Amor de Perdição, by Camilo Castelo Branco, to Brazil.
