LIVRARIA LELLO WELCOMES RICHARD ZIMLER
On the 1st of June, at 9 pm, Livraria Lello will welcome the American journalist, writer, and professor Richard Zimler. In a conversation with the author Manuela Niza Ribeiro, Richard Zimler will talk about the most recent book, A Aldeia das Almas Desaparecidas.
Richard Zimler has more than 20 published books, from novels to children's books. The author has won several awards, including the National Endowment of the Arts Fellowship in Fiction in 1994, the Herodotus Award for Best Historical Novel in 1998, and the Alberto Benveniste Literary Award in 2009 for Goa.
Anagramas de Warsóvia was nominated for the Best Book of 2009 by LER magazine and also by Portuguese secondary school students (Marquês de Ouro Award) and O Gospel Segundo Lázaro, which was named one of the best novels of the year by FNAC and Bertrand bookstores. Five of his novels were nominated for the Dublin International Literary Prize, one of the most important in the Anglo-Saxon world.
