Poetry Took to the Streets at Livraria Lello

Last Friday, poetry came to life through the voice of Portuguese poet and performer Aurelino Costa, who recited verses both inside and outside the bookshop, surprising passersby and delighting visitors.

Drawing from the Anthology of Portuguese Poems, Livraria Lello shared some of the most beautiful texts in national literature with hundreds of people. Between bookshelves and cobblestones, poetry became a living, shared presence.

At the end, guests were invited to take a poem home — a small printed reminder of the words that were spoken, and those that remained to be read.
