Porto City Council awards the Most Beautiful Bookshop in the World
On June 9th, Livraria Lello received a medal of merit awarded by the Porto City Council.
Every year, a selection of emblematic figures and places in the city of Porto is carried out for the attribution of medals by the Municipality of Porto. The municipal medals distinguish “individual or legal persons, national or foreign, who are notable for their merits or civic achievements". The medal of merit was awarded to 36 citizens and two entities, among them, Livraria Lello.
Livraria Lello carries more than a century of history and stories, embedded in the architectural space and also in the bookseller's knowledge that shapes the experience of those who visit and those who read it.
Aware of what it is, its DNA, and what it dreams of being, it establishes commitments with the Community and the World.
