Valdemar Cruz presents "O Coliseu é Nosso"

O Coliseu é Nosso (The Coliseum is Ours) arose from the need to preserve the memory of the civic mobilisation that, in 1995, prevented the sale of the Coliseu do Porto to the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God. Using press archives and testimonies from many of the protagonists, the author reconstructs the decisive moments when thousands of people came together to defend Porto's most emblematic concert hall. More than a factual record, the book offers a journey through Porto's collective memory, revealing passions, controversies and a rare sense of community around a common cultural asset.

The session will be presented by Artur Santos Silva and Isabel Pires de Lima.
The opening will be led by Miguel Guedes, president of the Coliseu, reinforcing the link between the Coliseu and Livraria Lello.

17 December, 9 p.m., at Livraria Lello.
Free admission. Limited capacity. Registration required.
