Livraria Lello distinguished as the world's most innovative attraction

Tiqets announced the worldwide winners of the Remarkable Venue Awards. Livraria Lello received the award for "Most Innovative Venue".

After winning the national competition, the one that is known as the World's Most Beautiful Bookshop was awarded the World Remarkable Venue Awards, promoted by the global online ticket booking and purchasing platform Tiqets. The global winners were announced at a ceremony held as part of the Tourism Innovation Summit (TIS), on November 2, in Seville.

The election of Livraria Lello as "Most Innovative Place" was the result of a global vote in which travelers from all over the world participated. In the competition were attractions from Germany, United Arab Emirates, Spain, the United States, France, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, and United Kingdom that had won the national award in their respective category.

"Audacity and boldness have been part of our DNA for 116 years, so we couldn't be happier with this recognition as the most innovative venue. We are also very happy to be an example of how a bookstore can reinvent itself and have innovation as one of the pillars of its operations," says Aurora Pedro Pinto, manager of Livraria Lello.

Organized by Tiqets since 2017, the Remarkable Venue Awards recognize the best museums and tourist attractions in the world. In 2022, Portugal was, for the first time, among the participating countries and won 3 of the 7 awards. "This is a recognition that the Portuguese tourist and cultural offer is an international reference," highlights Jaume Vidal, regional director of Tiqets for Spain and Portugal. In addition to Livraria Lello, in the category "Most Innovative Place", the Lisbon Oceanarium was distinguished as "Most Outstanding Place" and the FC Porto Museum received the award for "Best Attraction".
